Explain how to obtain heat from a boiling granulator

The principle of boiling granulator is quite familiar to those who are familiar with it. Firstly, the powder material needs to be put into the fluidized bed for granulation, and cold air enters from the heating chamber at the back of the host. After being heated by the primary and medium efficiency filtration heaters to the required temperature for air intake, it enters the fluidized bed. The powder is fluidized in the bed, and the binder used for granulation is pumped into the dual fluid atomizer by an infusion pump, which is then sprayed into the fluidized material after atomization. The powders bridge and aggregate with each other to form particles that grow, and the water evaporates and is carried out of the machine by the exhaust.


We all know that the preparation process of almost all solid formulations is inseparable from the granulation process. The particles produced may be final products, such as granules; It could also be an intermediate product, such as tablets, so how do we obtain heat from the boiling granulator?


There are two ways to soften plastic: one is through heating the outer cylinder, and the other is through the interaction between the screw and the cylinder to obtain the internal friction force between the plastics. The frictional heat provided by plasticizers can be calculated, and in many extrusion operations, frictional heat accounts for the majority of the total heat obtained by the material.


There are three main methods for heating steel cylinders: electric heating, liquid heating, and steam heating. The temperature control range of electric heating is large, clean, relatively inexpensive, and efficient.


Heaters are usually installed around buckets and grouped by area. Usually, each area is individually controlled, so the desired temperature distribution can be maintained along the machine.


Due to its convenience, sensitivity, easy adjustment, easy cleaning, reduced maintenance costs, wide temperature adjustment range, and low initial cost, electric heating is a heating method.


There are various types and shapes of heaters, including resistive heaters and induction heaters that wrap around the cylinder in envelope form. Made of materials such as ceramics and mica, it can provide the heat required to melt plastics. The extruder barrel is usually used in the form of cast aluminum heaters, coolers or slots on aluminum components, and the installation of heating rods.


Boiling granulators can be divided into feed type and biomass energy type. If heating oil is used, the temperature of the entire heat exchange area is uniform, avoiding local overheating. If delivering the same coolant. Force the temperature to drop uniformly. However, when processing thermoplastic materials, the high working temperature of most liquids is relatively low. It will not suddenly overheat, causing reactive curing of the material.
